The first two weeks of the 2014 Work Sessions are a "wrap" - and with some great results at both work sites (Antonito and Chama).

Ed Lowrance and Clyde Putman have provided the photos below as evidence of the great work done by our volunteers!

On to Work Sessions C and D - from June 16-27!

Friday - 4 of 7 rows of girts have been installed on the car shelter. Work is planned to continue during C & D. Team Leader Chuck Dueker and Daniel Schmidt have developed a system!.jpg

Friday - Chama 5810773-450.JPG
Clyde Putman sent this photo from Chama with a note that Avery, Ducky and Alfonzo are shown moving an Andrews truck in preparation for shipment to Antonito for the long stock car restoration project. (Alfonzo is driving the front end loader).
Friday - Don Stewart and tank car.jpg
One tank car is painted! The material has been very difficult to work with. Paint Team Leader Don Stewart now thinks he'll paint the other car with rollers. Fine print says the Acrolon material is supposed to be applied at 2300 PSI - well beyond our equipment capabilities. Don was able to eliminate runs by brushing them out. A second coat will be required as he applied a very light coat. He hopes the second coat will produce the desired results.

Please tell Don that even that first coat with all of its problems looks much better than what was on there before. Looking forward to the end result. Is Don going to paint these cars in C? Chris Trunk and his team will be working on them in D and will not look good in overspray....
