South Windy

My wife and I climbed up the Continental Divide Trail from the SR 17 trailhead just below Cumbres on the Saturday morning between C and D work sessions. Moving about on the ridge we call "South Windy" a couple of times as time went on, we shot 484 and 463 double-heading train up Windy Point, 484 pausing at Cumbres before it returned to Chama and 463 taking the train eastward around Tanglefoot. The shots I got of the double-header approaching Coxo aren't worth sharing, but I'm glad I was able to check this excursion off my list. I do want to get closer to Tanglefoot next time. BTW, I would have posted these photos sooner but I had some concern about how the Forum was taking my photos. It turned out there wasn't a problem.

But I see I posted them out of order. Oh well. Also, if you click on each shot, you can see the whole image at once.

John, thanks. I agree that there are a lot of dead trees up there. There also are a lot a couple of miles away at Trujillo Meadows reservoir when we visited there in June. The years of drought really took a toll.

Paul, thanks for the detailed description of your photo journey. Some of the shots look as though they were taken using Roger's drone. These are a nice selection.
