Here are some additional photos of Tuesday's Friends' volunteer activities.
D11.JPG
The side of Derrick OP's hoist house has some splices that have been made before siding will be applied.
D12 - Chuck Dueker-TL Clyde Putman.JPG
Chuck Dueker and Team Leader Clyde Putman are inside the Maintenance of Wheels, Brakes & Safety Appliances shop (also known as the "car body shop" next to the log bunkhouse). The head room is for extra short people!
D13-5691-5841-5553.JPG
Stock Car 5691 and 5841 will be worked on after the work on Stock Car 5553 is complete.
D14-George Detwiler.JPG
George Detwiler works on the roof of 5553. The red ribbons on some of the grab irons indicate they are loose and will be tightened.
D15-Evan Martinez.JPG
The Friends' youngest volunteer, Evan Martinez, screws another piece of the oak tongue and groove flooring in the RPO car. This is the second year Evan has worked with TL Don Bayer's crew, and it is obvious he's really enthusiastic and energized. We're lucky he's with us!
D16-Todd Fraizer.JPG
Todd Fraizer squares the end of another piece of oak tongue and groove flooring in the RPO car.
D17-TL Clyde Putman-Chuck Dueker.JPG
Team Leader Clyde Putman and Chuck Dueker check out a triple valve. Clyde said that they repaired three triple valves and all three checked out just fine! That always makes one feel good!
D18-TL Don Bayer-Marshall Smith.JPG
Team Leader Don Bayer is cutting a piece of "C" Channel as Marshall Smith watches.
D19-Marshall Smith-TL Don Bayer.JPG
The "C"" Channel in the previous photo has been clamped to a piece of pipe with a piece of flat steel sheet metal placed in between. Marshall Smith is pounding the sheet metal into a curved piece that is a protective piece of metal to be placed on one of the curved door posts on the RPO car.

Display Engine #483 receives more red primer.

Wow, looks like solid oak floor, I'd better wipe my feet before I go in there. :-)

Marshall Smith seems to figure out how to make anything. What a talent, and Mary Jane feeds us well too! Great team.
