The volunteers in Antonito and Chama continue to make significant progress on various projects. On the Antonito Car Shelter project, all of the purlins have been lifted onto the roof and team members are now fastening them. The new metal roof on Cook Car 053 is almost completed. In Chama, the RPO 054 restoration project is moving forward; three new gates have been constructed for the stock pens; and the team working on the drop bottom gondola are installing flooring. New flowers have been planted in the planters on the east and south sides of the Chama Depot!

You can surely tell that the Friends' volunteers are in session!

Here are some photos:

Good progress is being made on the "Cinder Bear" rider gon. The "Trex" flooring is going down along with new 2 x 12's o the sides. The bottom new pieces had to be cut down to about 2 x 10 size because of the 2 x 4's that were added to the bottom of the floor.

George Trever screws the "Trex" flooring to the 2 x 4's below The bolts with washers are used as temporary spacers to allow spacing for moisture draining, rain, snow, etc.

Carpenter Shop Team Leader Len Jones and Marshall Smith discuss needed repairs to the "heavy duty" hinges for the three new gates built by Len for the stock pens. Working alone, Len spent a day on each gate. They will be installed at a later 2013 work session.
