The gondola has been lowered onto the trucks and Team Leader Clyde Putman gives a hand signal to remove the fork lift.

Team Leader Craig McMullen nails rolled plywood to the end of the Cook Car. The plywood is specifically made to bend. It was cut into strips and three layers of the strips were overlapped, glued and nailed into place.

The remaining roof sheeting is almost complete on Cook Car 053. A rubberized membrane will cover the wood before the sheet metal roofing material is installed.

When Art Randall retired from coming out every summer doing all of the historic R/R's trucks, I was concerned who would take over after Art. There is no worry as Clyde Putman, (who was one of Arts understudys) has done a wonderful job of taking over. Clyde is a get-r-done guy, and his teams always have much to show for their week on the R/R. :smiley24:
