Work Session A - 2013 - Sunday, May 19

Welcome back to daily updates of our 2013 Work Session activities! Sunday, May 19, 39 volunteers arrived at two sites - Chama and Antonito - to begin their work in support of the C&TSRR! This beginning session was especially exciting because many volunteers had tickets to ride the recently restored Engine 463's inaugural run from Antonito to Chama on Monday, May 20. Work begins in earnest on Tuesday, May 21. The 23 volunteers in Antonito are working on Cook Car 053, roofing the car shelter, and accomplishing some lettering chores on rolling stock. The 26 volunteers in Chama are continuing restoration work on RPO 054, repairing Rider Gon Car 6205, and also accomplishing some lettering work. Support volunteers are staffing the tool car, the kitchen car, and working on landscaping as well as chronicling and team leader reporting.

Hi, John: We are still in awe of 463 (accompanied by 487) steaming across the line - and the train was full of aficionados who know a LOT about steam engines! What a day! GREAT! Yes, now - back to life in the work sessions!
