I sure hope so too Jack - I'm guessing there will be hospital trains to move the coaches about, as for Christmas trains, nothing's been announced yet. Fingers crossed.

It remains to be seen whether 484 will winter in Antonito or if she comes back to Chama and another engine winters there instead. But isn't 463 already over there?

I thought this morning's trip was going to be a double-header again. Guess not. That's O. K., we'll keep watching the web cams anyway today.

Usually the last train is a double header. Ah well, the best thing is that it's still steam!

Here is a comparison of the first train 216 of the 2021 season and the last. Hard to believe how much the scene changes during different seasons!

The final passenger train for 2021 has arrived in Chama, with 488 hauling 8 coaches.

487 blew a really long end of season blast on her whistle which is something I have not seen before!

The 2021 season is now over. Well, I can safely say that this year has been much better than the previous! Of course we have had a fair few double headers this season, whereas the last had, I believe, 0. The star moment has to be the Victoria Iron Horse Roundup, plus the entry into service of the Victorian train with 168. Who would've dreamt it back in 1970!
But the most remarkable thing about this season, is the number of engines we have had running. Excluding 15 and the Goose, RGS 20, Eureka, Glenbrook, 168, 315/425, 463/455, 484, 487, 488 and 489 have all graced C&TS metals this year. That's a total of 10! What an achievement!
Hopefully there will be some off-season activity in the morning. We shall wait and see. I think the coaches have to be positioned at some point, so hospital trains are likely I would say.

Right now the Colorado set is in Chama and New Mexico set in Antonito. At this point that is not that important, but would think most of the set in Chama will head back to Antonito on the hospital train. There should also be a flurry of track work being done in the coming weeks as the railroad take advantage of the weather and empty railroad.
