Just received my 2018 Friends Calendar ordered at the same time I renewed my membership. As you can see from the cover graphic, the colors and choice of locations are wonderful. You can order Friends Christmas cards and Chama-Toltec items for gifts at the same time.

The C&TSRR yard has rested quietly today. However, behind the closed doors of the engine house and depot there continues to be activity, and let's not forget the busy Friends office in Albuquerque. The equipment is being readied and the reservations are being taken in anticipation of the December Christmas trains. I was pleasantly startled, learning that a study completed several years back reported there are 65 employees attending to railroad business. The economic trickle down effect of burning coal is substantial for the towns of Chama and Antonito.
