Morning preparations continued and departure of train 216: 484 helper to Cumbres Pass, 489 road locomotive and 9 cars

The students left Chama with frosted car tops on frosted crossties. Here in AZ it is still in the 90s. It's good to see 484 steamed up and back in the mix again.

463 has a 5 car train, 2 flat topped coaches, the old snack car, open gon and caboose that came through the house and headed east up the house lead and out of Chama. There were riders onboard. Video be posted along with a few stills. 484 must have taken a spin out of the line since it is now headed to the wye to get turned to face east. Oh, 484 was parked just inside the north yard on the main, so 463 had only 2 options, go through the house or up the station lead.

That move through the house was one of the strangest ever. I get clearing the main for 484 to come back in, but pulling out the house track certainly would have made more sense. Someone special on that little train...
