Bad News - Camera Outage

Unread postby Jason Rose » Mon Sep 19, 2016 8:11 am

I suspected this would happen and I just got the call from Tim... We've been asked to turn the cameras off for the movie filming that is taking place.

The outage will start shortly after the departure this morning and last through Wednesday morning.

If you need a fix during the next 48 hours, please take a gander at Larry's EXTENSIVE archival footage.

Bummer, but not totally unexpected.

Movie company paranoia. Par for the course these days - some companies even forbid mobile phones on the set lest images escape on social media.

Thanks Jason, that thought had gone through my mind they would do that. I remember when I was doing the media stuff over at the Kennedy Space Center for shuttle missions, they were filming one of the Transformers movies -- they used our media parking lot as a staging area. We were all very strictly told if we even aim a camera at them we'd lose our badges and be escorted off the property. Hard to tell a bunch of media photographers not to use their cameras, and I know some that tested that rule -- and paid for it. Was fun to watch a couple of the scenes getting filmed though.

I guess I can use the time to update the archive!!!!
