As the train passes the tipple we can see the docent getting ready for his day and the roof of the coach Sublette which does not match the others.

Interesting to note that when #216 pulled out this morning, with a typical 7-car consist, the second coach was not the usual one in the train set. One of the flat-roofed cars was in its place.

Yes, I noted that on 215's arrival yesterday. It is the Sublette so at least it matches the Colorado set. I can only guess that the regular coach was bad ordered in Antonito.

Student train arrival: 484 and 8 cars including 2 cabeese.
OK, I have been struck by 'lightening'. I caught the student freight passing the phone booth at Coxso and got 215 yesterday at the same location.

The consist of the train changed slightly in that the tank car was left in Antonito and a second caboose added. The gentleman standing up is waving to the cam.

Arrival of train 216: 489 and 7 cars, we have a swap of coaches again today with Phantom subbing for one of the regular coaches.

As the 215 passes the tipple we see the flat roofed coach in the consist and people enjoying the open gon.

This brings up an interesting point. They substituted one of the flat roof coaches in the other set and now this one. Are they starting maintenance on the coaches already????

Remember that we've had several issues with brakes on coaches in the past couple of weeks, perhaps they are doing permanent fixes during a slower week, to be ready for the busy fall season?

Train 216 departs, these cooler mornings do make for some nice smoke.



Another successful conclusion to the fireman/engineer school as 484 brings in the train from Antonito. Right down to the wye, and after turning 484 shoves the train-set into the South yard. Perhaps they'll use this same set on next week's school, though as that is the advanced school they may do something different.



Train 215 returns as 484 is getting a cleaning as the ash pit.
