Geese and locomotives all in action today.

Early activity behind the shop this morning.

Told this would happen after 216 left, but seems they are getting the 315 now, likely going to the shop to mate with the tender.

315 now in the West side of the shop. This move wasn't expected until after 216 so we won't have any on the ground photos of the move. Much more from 315 in the days ahead though!!

It is an interesting comparison between a K36 tender and that C18 locomotive body.

Just a quick note.....at some point in time the big eye in the sky has gone over Chama on Google Maps. The map has a better image. You can now see the wye extension, and other things a lot clearer.

OK, waiting to see if we get the geese on the Cumbres CDoT cam.
I maybe seeing things, but this sure looks like steam rising down the Chama valley.

Now I just wish they would send the Google Earth ground team back in so we could have summer shots instead of the deep snow we see now.

The sun came out at the end of the day and made a rainbow.
And the smoke from the engine house is 315. Guess they got her all hooked up to her tender.

Nice capture on the rainbow Robert! I THINK 315 is behind the shop, they weren't supposed to light the fire until morning, but of course that could have changed. Will see if we can get it confirmed one way or another.

Here's the videos of the day -

We'll start the day with 315 getting moved inside the West stall of the shop. Here the tender was mated to the locomotive. Our boots on the ground Larry Gibson was able to get some shots of the work, look in the day six picture package for that.

Goose 5 and 7 made a round trip to Osier today. Here's the Chama departure. Note our resident deer that investigates after #7 goes by.

Train 216 Departure

Goose 5 and 7 return from Osier, our deer makes another appearance shortly after 7 goes by the tipple. Geese were turned then parked on the depot track.

Final video of the day is 215 returning.

For photos from the day, you can visit the Larry Gibson day 6 thread here -- viewtopic.php?f=11&t=3907
