Hostlers job complete, 487 awaits her road crew to put the train together and prepare for departure. The primed RPO shines even in the shade, as work continues on the new paint job.

Smoke from 463 in Antonito, will we see her in Chama today, or will they switch locomotives at Osier again?

We had to block access to the right of the display and force the drivers to back up from the road. We got two loads in the space of 15 minutes, one driver was able to handle that and the other struggled. Hopefully the track crew will begin hauling the ballast away before E session.

We had thunder up on the pass from when 216 arrived until about 2:00pm when we left. We didn'the see rain until we were about half way down the hill. I think the rain hit the yard shortly after your screen capture.

Well at least you guys did something to keep your access. Yes I do hope that the MoW crews start hauling the ballast away since I will be there for session E and would like to get over on the other side of the section house.

Yes Pete, I heard the drumming on the depot cam shortly after the grab. Amazing how loud the rain is on that metal roof.

We wait to see if 463 will come back today. We will know once we hear the train blow for 17.
Just heard it and it sounds like 487.

Would love to know the reason that they are keeping 463 over in Antonito. It went over on Saturday on 216 and starting Sunday they have been swapping locomotives at Osier.

There is a back way to get to the car inspectors house although it is a bit bumpy (high clearance recommended).
Also it is our understanding that there are only supposed to be a few more loads.

I'm thinking that 463 gets put to use in Antonito, can take a full length train out of there. In Chama she's more or less sitting idle most of the time. Also, have we seen 489 for the past few days? Could be playing into it if unavailable for whatever reason.

Last word on the 489 was it is having the conversion done on the lubricators for the main bearings from alimite to oil. 487 got this earlier in the season I do believer and seems to be doing fine with it. Correct in that its been close to a week since 489 went into the east stall. The last time I saw it was when it was moved dead from the west to east stalls.
