Looks like 487 will get the call today, getting her ashes cleaned out.

487 takes on water as 489 also visits the ash pit this morning.

489 spending an exceedingly long time at the water tank, now 487 - after having pulled up at the depot - is going into the South yard.

Looks like one additional coach being added now, and 489 finally on her way back to the shop. 489 was at the water tank for about 25 minutes, whatever they were doing took some time.

Now hooked up to her train, 487 will soon move to the boarding position, and the passengers will begin to enjoy their train time!

The weather forecast calls for 95 today. With most places not having air conditioning is not going to be a nice place, beautiful, but not nice. Wonder what it will be on the pass?

Snotel site shows 53 as the last reading at Cumbres. Yesterday was a high of 79 -- co it's a bit cooler up there. Weather is all screwed up, I had a low of 62 here this morning and almost no humidity - nearly unheard of in June! Quite refreshing compared to the norm.

Found a site that has a forecast for Cumbres Pass - http://weatherology.com/weather/forecas ... ecast.html

487 and and 8 car train depart on time, with many of the Friends pausing from their work long enough to wave to the folks on board.

It was in the high 70s to low 80s with alight breeze. Around 3:00 PM we started getting dark clouds and thunder - we decided it was prudent to come down to Chama, a temperature drop occurred around 4:30 with only a few drops.
