463 and tender reunited (and reignited?)

Unread postby Edwin Frey » Mon Apr 11, 2016 12:21 pm

I didn't catch all of the action earlier today, but noticed that #15 was moving things around. One of the first things I noticed was that #463's tender had been moved from its winter parking place. #484 was parked out in front of the round house. #15 went inside the right side of the shop, pushed 463 out the back, and then came back out to fetch #484, which is now back in the right side of the shop. #15 is parked out front on the right hand lead. But the "big news" is that out in back, viewed from the depot cam, #463 is coupled to its tender, and there is steam wafting around the engine. Don't know yet if it's from a real fire, or a steam cleaner, but at least it shows that things are coming together!

I was out most of the day so did not get any video of these moves. You can plainly see 463's tender on the station cam.

Thanks Larry Sullivan for the alert! Had to pull the Jeep into a parking lot to catch a peek. Spring Stirrings have begun!

Sorry I missed the action because it would be interesting to see how they got the 463's tender out since it was the one nearest the cam. This meant that the coupler was away from the move. They may have used a loader to pull it up to the main so 15 could come up behind and grab it.

Just looked and 463 must be back inside since I can no longer see the tender.
