South Camera/Sand house stacks

I was just looking at the south camera and noticed that the stacks on the sand house roof no longer have snow on them and the snow around them appears to have melted back a bit. That makes me wonder if the sand house has some heat ?? I know the railroad has plans to renovate the building so it can be used again. Has that started?
(When nothing is going on, find something/ anything to talk about, right?)

Astute observation Rich. I'd sure like to know the answer.

I wonder if it's not simply the sun warming the metal of the stack.

Could be, I don't recall what they looked like yesterday evening. I noticed them this morning when it was about 2 degrees in Chama.
On the other hand if it is just the sun doing it's thing, BUZZ KILL!

if there was heat in there, the roof wouldn't have snow as i can't imagine there is any insulation under it! Buzz Kill!

I looked today and they are gone again after being piled high with snow the other day. Something is going on here! That black color must really heat up when the sun comes out or there is heat inside!
