9/22/15 Cool, cloudy and rain earlier

Looks like 484 got the call today and is sitting on the main waiting to back down to the train. When I first went in, the freeze frame on the south cam showed an orangeish speeder sitting in front of 484 but it was gone when I activated the cam. Anyone know it 488 is sitting outside behind the house? As I noted yesterday, don't think there is enough room in a stall for 2 engines with tenders.

Well, that was interesting! Both 484 and 487 backed at the same time with 487 going into the right stall and 484 to the train.

484 gets train 216 moving in a nice cloud of smoke and steam on this cool, cloudy day and Parlor New Mexico brings up the rear.

Sharon the speeder that was in front of 484 was the one that was brought in yesterday on the trailer. They headed up the hill about an hour before 216. Speeder move is part of the video review of today. About 2 weeks ago I was very sure that 488 was in the shop, back of the left side - thought I could clearly see her there one day when all the doors were opened. Perhaps with 463's smaller size they can squeeze two locos in there, or perhaps 488's tender has been taken off and is sitting in back if she is indeed done for the season and awaiting her 1472. Will try to get a definitive answer to that question.

The 487 is back outside and in front of the left stall simmering in the rain.

498 brings the 215 into the yard just as a ray of sunshine lightens everything up. We see the 487 simmering away as the parlor Colorado heads to the depot.

Here's today's video review --

09-22-15 - Morning yard preparations of #484 on a cool morning.

09-22-15 Speeder moves from side of roundhouse, then leaves yard about an hour prior to 216
Image

09-22-15 Locomotives move almost in unison - 489 backs into the shop, 484 backs to her train.

09-22-15 Train 216 Departs -- watch out for the smoke coming into your computer screen! Love these cool damp mornings for the smoke, unfortunate the view is less for the paying passengers however.

09-22-15 Mule Deer once again milling around the yard. Almost invisible until she moves, one near the bottom of the covered lumber, really blends in with the background.
Image

09-22-15 Train 215 Arrival to a wet yard, though not raining at the time -- quite a rain shower earlier in the afternoon.

09-22-15 To close the day, one lonely deer reflected in the water looking like she's trying to figure out where to bed down for the night.

This is the final day of summer, onto a hopefully spectacular fall season.
