Lots of activities today involving the advanced engineer school, as well as the normal daily runs of 216 and 215. Here's today's video review ----

09-14-15 Train 216 Departs with 489 leading, 463 awaits the clearing of the main to get to work on switching in the South yard.

09-14-15 After 215 left the yard, there was a brief meeting with the students by #463 -- I also think it may be Mr. Hogan with the cameras and tripod there. Once the meeting broke, #463 headed to the South yard for switching.

09-14-15 - #463 spent a fair amount of time in the South yard switching. Evidently they had an issue with the locomotive, they went in the back door of the shop, right side, and 487 was brought into action. Stopping for water and coal, 487 then finished switching duties and headed out with the advanced school train - I think to Cumbres, if I remember correctly from yesterday's post.

Now if only Jason had that smell-o-vision - would have had a house full of smoke through the cameras!!!! :smiley16:

09-14-15 Train 215 returns just a few minutes late, with 484 in the lead.

09-14-15 - The advanced school train returned around 5:30, meanwhile #484 after turning train 215 was busy moving some of the Friends cars. Also had gone down to the South yard and picked up another car.

09-14-15 - #484 finishes her moves, as 487 brings the school train up from the wye. #484 first then #487 then headed for the barn for the night.

As a further note on #463 - she spent around 3 hours in the shop, then came out and is sitting on the left side shop track, there for the night behind whatever locomotive was spotted in front of her.

I think that about covers it, I'll do further review of the day tomorrow in case I missed something -- it's off to work time for me now.

You basically had everything right for today's activities.
In addition to the switching, we made a run up to Cumbres. On the way, we dropped off a car at Lobato. Before we made the turn at Cumbres, we dropped off another car. On the way back, we picked up the car previosly dropped at Lobato.
We've had a selection of C&TSRR crew as instructors. All of them have done an excellent job of training (pun intended).
Our understanding is that we will be using 487 for tomorrow's school activities with more switching and a possible run up to Cumbres.

Thanks Pete! Looks like you're all doing a great job! Thanks for the update of the activities.

NOTE: I forgot to add that during the video above with #487 now working the school train to Cumbres, you can clearly hear #463s whistle, even though she's in the shop. I accidentally had another video playing in another window which is where that sound comes from, as I edited and re-recorded what I posted. Sorry about any confusion that caused, my goof!!!
