Looks like 487 and 463 will be the power today on 216. 4 hot locos visible too. Rain continues on the pass.

All set waiting for the Highball! 463 is road loco, 487 helper. Lots of boarding activity on the platform too. Meanwhile track speeder is just heading out of the yard. Finally a moment recorded for the family to treasure one day.

The weather seems to have improved a little over the course of the day..

The CDOT cam caught the 215 at Cumbres while 487 sits at the coaling area waiting for her turn.

Glad to see it clearing, it would not be a nice evening at Cumbres for the supper if it was still raining, pavilion or not. Also 463 was inside the engine house, cold the whole time I was there. Hope to get it next year.

That's too bad Sharon. We all count the time down between trips!:) Word is there will be another doubleheader tomorrow.

Well 215 came in with 6 coaches plus the other 4 cars and if they all go back tomorrow that's a double header for sure.

488 brings a long 215 in about 4:15. Now the prep for tonight's Dinner Train will begin shortly. Riders are already gathering by the depot.

489 and 484 went to the water tower in tandem earlier today. Not sure that's evidence of a possible double header tomorrow, but it did cause me to picture one in my mind.

Here's today's set of video - there is some really good smoke and movements during the preparation time today, I'll get a video of that put together likely tomorrow, unfortunately work gets in the way again tonight. So for now, just the departures and arrivals.

Thanks Larry and Jeff for completing the day train moves.
487 then moves off for service creating some neat light patterns with the headlight.

I haven't watched too much of the night train return, happened to keep the recording going late for this night. Interesting view to me of 487 at the ash pit, with the firebox and ashes dropping fairly well seen on the cam. Anyway thought I would post if there is interest.

The locomotive at the ashpit at night is a neat photo event when in the yard. This video gives a good idea of what it's like without the colors. A great idea to post.
