08-25-15 A Quiet Tuesday

Looks like a quiet yard day today. Between the two trains 488 spent some time in back of the shop, visited the ash pit and got a drink, now parked back in front of 487 - I think 487 is cold.

Some of the local cattle showing on the La Manga Pass cam this evening - one seems to be considering crossing the road.

I saw that, too, when it happened and couldn't quite see what it was. Glad you clarified it, Larry! Need a new highway sign: "Beware, cattle crossing."

Hey Farol, there are signs up there saying that it's "free range" country. The cows own the roads.

You must have a sign like that in the Chama Yard, with that one lonely deer wandering around! That is odd, being that it so close to the main street of the Chama Yard. Must get a free hand-out, then wanders over to soak in the swamp (hot tub).

The deer aren't shy in Chama. I've seen 'em stroll through the yard, come up the embankment to Terrace Ave, and leisurely saunter by The Hotel on their way east through town.

Photos in Chama last fall.

WOW! Looks like some tasty vitals on that slope. Wonder what it is that attracts them.
