Without these remarkable volunteers saving and opening the railroad in the summer 1970, there would be no Cumbres & Toltec today.

These photos were taken on August 30, 2010 - the 40th Annivesary of the first train to Chama on September 6, 1970.

Jason, do you have any photos of the plaques we hung in both depots to honor those first guys who helped save the railroad?

No, John, not yet. I'll try to remember to get a few in May when I head back up there.

I may have a couple, I took a few with Jeff Stebbins and his daughter by the Chama plaque. He was sitting in the locomotive when I told him about it and set a new time record getting off that thing to go see the plaque when I told him his name was on it. :-)

Jason, John - I have some taken in Chama when Terry and John mounted it. May have some from Antonito, also. Let me dig them out and let you know what I find.

All I could find was some shots when John placed the plaque in Chama. One has Terry next to it. No close-up, none from Antonito.
