America's Steam Railroad, The Cumbres & Toltec, part of the Great American Railway Journeys series, won an 2018 Emmy award at the Mid-South Emmy Awards in Nashville last month. Producer/videographer Rob Van Camp accepted the award. You can view the Emmy-winning production at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qS2HUcYaYY

Rob Van Camp spent several days shooting on the C&TS in 2016, one of his many visits to what he calls his "favorite" of all the railroad's he's shot over the years. You can read about his video work in the Winter, 2016 issue of the C&TS Dispatch.

I was in Chama when they were doing this and watched, from above Osier, as they did the runby with 216. Not knowing what was happening made for interesting watching.

I used to teach video production and editing so I watched this with an "educator's eye," and I can really appreciate how and why it got an Emmy. It's just really well done: the video, the editing, the music, the narration, the interviews, all bring this together really well. The fact that it's about the C&TS and US, makes it even better!
