Thanks, Roger. If you hear any details as to why it was killed, please let us know.

Watched the video on that question and I still don't understand why it was voted down. I did come away with a question, John said the 497 was in the roundhouse and all it needs is the major FRA inspection to be done and it can operate again. I for some reason did not shoot the K37 that is sitting on that stub track with 483 and thought it was the 497.

I was trying to find a picture to verify, I believe 492 is in front of 483, I may be wrong but that's a number I have noted on some notes I have.

From my pictures from this summer we can see the 483 while looking much better in fresh paint is still very incomplete. I know there are a lot more parts in a box car the friends were working from this summer when I was there but they told us many of the parts and fittings have been cannibalized.

I believe so - there is not even a switch or a turnout anymore to the track the 483 and 492 sit on. I guess the plan now is to continue with the exterior restoration next summer. Has anybody seen the 483's tender? I was not able to find it on my walk around the yard.

483's tender is on the track down in the swap. It's at the end of the track.

From Google Earth, that, is I think, the tender of 483 that I have circled.

Tender which is down there is in very rough condition. I don't know if it could even be moved to where 483 is located.

I thought I looked down there but it does not sound like it could have been moved. Thanks for pointing it out to me.
