489 had derailed that morning at the west switch at Los Pinos siding and 488 was rushed through a break-in run to assist with rerailing 489 and bringing the train back to Chama. Passengers were bussed back. It was an honor to watch the C&T Railroaders in action that day. They're true professionals!
