I have received the photos for this project and will be, like the most recent photographs from Cumbres Pass, will be posted in the order that I received them without comment. I would actually be guessing anyway.
Credit for this photographs goes to Pat Maufrais who uploaded them to our storage site.

For those of you who don't know, in the first photo of the work team the couple on the left is Bill and Norma Lock. Bill is the founder of the Friends organization which started when Bill rode the train and noticed the deterioration of most of the rolling stock other than the equipment used in passenger service. Bill started by getting permission from the operator to start working on cleaning up and painting cars to arrest their deterioration and Bill kept at it and was soon bringing some of his 'friends' with him to help. The group kept getting bigger so Bill started the Friends organization in 1988 which now has thousands of members worldwide who come out to work sessions and support the railroad in any way possible.

Bill and Norma were injured in an auto accident over a year ago but that didn't stop them as you can see. Bill became one of the New Mexico commissioners for the railroad even though he would have to attend commission meetings with his leg in a cast and using a cane for balance. How's that for dedication?
