Snow on the Narrow Gauge

Going through some old post cards today and came across two interesting cards that I purchased in a store up on Terrace Ave way back in 1974 showing the Chama yard after a heavy snow and a rotary extra out on the line. Neither photos were dated. Posting them to share old time winter on the railroad. Larry

Very cool, Larry. Any idea who the photographer is? Maybe Ken Lively?

Posting this 3rd card rediscovered today. By the caption could it possibly date to the rescue of the San Juan Passenger Train that was swept away in an avalanche before it was discontinued?

These look like they are from the big storm from the early 50's. Look at all those K-37's on the Rotary train!! The photographer may be Richardson on the first couple and no idea on that caboose shot which is just awesome. I see the caboose is 0540 and the crew is probably a Durango based crew as they were going to try and get the line open---meanwhile the 491 was still missing and buried under snow near Osier. Look in the Dorman collection for the first two shots I've seen them there. Great stuff Larry!
