It was, Rich. Neat hike. Neat area.

It's relatively easy, too. Easier than say, the east side of Alpine Tunnel from Hancock to the top of the pass above the portal. Much lower elevation. And it's easily accessible being so close to Durango.

Thanks for posting.I enjoyed this report very much. Quiet Times in NG Territory still has a beautiful tone to it. Eerily still up in the high country and you had great hike along the old RGS too. Thanks for posting all these pics and especially of never revealed places of the hike in this post. Larry

Very informative and enjoyable to read the trip report, and see all the great pictures. I especially liked the links to the Google maps to get the overall big picture view.

Hopefully next trip will have some steam action for you!!!
