Tipple Supply Track - Gone!

Unread postby Karl Strauss » Thu Mar 24, 2022 1:05 pm

This may have happened a while ago. But I just noticed that the track on the east side of the coal tipple - that would have been used to supply coal to the coal pit is ripped out.
Any idea why?

Thanks

The rails were removed last Fall from the tipple pit to the end of the track. They were removed for an upcoming Friends project where they are going to work on the back of the sand house. I believe I remember it being stated that once the work is complete and the retaining walls have been rebuilt to hold the dirt under the rails, they will be put back in place.

I also read they were going to dig out the dirt behind the pit wall so it could be rebuilt as it was caving in. IIRC, they are putting in a retaining wall also.
