D&S 416 Fire

Unread postby Karl Strauss » Tue Jun 05, 2018 10:44 am

As was mentioned Friends member Chris James in the Fire topic under Web Cameras, it would seem prudent for C&TS to do - at the very least - team up with D&S and have C&TS identified as an alternate while the D&D is closed due to the 416 fire.
Next level up would be for C&TS to coordinate charter bus service between Chama and Durango - heck a two-hour bus ride is better than a ruined vacation.
And finally, it to have C&TS acquire a special website name (such as DurangoTrainFireAlternateService) or at least tweak its keywords so search engines would identify C&TS as a viable alternative. - at the very least C&TS must include a special page on its site addressing the rail-rider community impacted by the 416 fire - and yes, even offer a discount which includes One Year membership in Friends. So they stay a Friend.

Just my thoughts...

Karl, it's a great idea. I could set up the website (for free) in less than an hour if needed.

May I suggest you call Tim in the FCTS office? He would be the guy to run this up the chain-of-command.
