My modeling renditions of the Oil rack and Coal tower

Unread postby wayne pierce » Mon Jul 12, 2021 8:33 am

Greetings, After a long time as a passenger on the C&TS and an avid Model Railroader I wanted to show you my modeling efforts for the structures at Chama.
I have modeled The Coaling tower, with a change as my layout trackage was already preset. These models are 0 scale. My railroad is 0n30. I have Diecast/brass engines models for the K27 (454,455,463), K28,(473,476, 475, 477) K36 (480), K37(497) and C19 (340,344).

The Oil Rack was pared down to a three car service rack.

Greetings. Having been remiss in providing an update to the Oil Rack modeled above, I have, after some time, put up these two images for your pleasure.

The bulk oil doesn't have to go very far to be loaded into the tank cars. I have a destination elsewhere on my layout where the oil is taken too.

Thanks for viewing,
Wayne

Great job on the oil rack and lighting. Do the lights by the oil rack light up?

Yes they do. LED lighting. The attached shows them on before the scenery was installed around the rack. Also a night shot of the Coaling Tower.
Thanks for looking.
