Following this from about 1700 miles away, as the crow flies, that is certainly the impression I've been getting as things have progressed. Earlier today I proclaimed to Jean, "a really professional operation by the RR".
I can only imagine how much stronger that impression would be in person.

~150 paying attendees and 12 FCTS members serving as volunteer staff.

It’s a big crowd, but it’s being managed well and everything is running smoothly.

I was told we had 14 run-by locations today. That, in itself, is remarkable.

Impressive live reporting. The most amazing thing is how well the railroad is handling the large group. The arrangements for the busses, the highway patrol, meals, a lot of details have been handled and are working well. All kinds of details. Safety vests that the DOT required, drinking water to keep folks hydrated, parking attendants to get folks in parking spots. And the photo stops have been well thought out. Of course glorious weather and a friendly cooperative group is also helping. The C&TS and the volunteers get really high marks from me. This is a landmark event in terms of the challenge and execution, and it is working.

Jason, Thank you for putting all those photos up.Wow! Great stuff!!
As posted elsewhere , a truly professional and impressive event.
Some where in my stuff I have a video from the early 90s, narrated by the late Jim Boyd of Rail Fan magazine. I thought that was pretty good but I think this event beats it and there's still another day to go!!
