I am going to use this thread to post the YouTube links for the videos from the recent trip to Chama, check back frequently to catch each video as its posted.

The first is of RGS Goose 5 making a run up to Cumbres on Sunday 7/30/17. It left early enough for me to chase it as far as Dalton before I had to head back to Chama so I could catch train 216 myself.

During my 10 days in Chama, the C&TS ran 2 double headers and this video is a compilation of both. The opening sequence was shot on 7/28/17, the last day of the work session, and involved K36 488 as helper to K27 463 and a 9 car train. The remaining sequences were shot the prior Saturday, 7/22/17, and involved K36 489 as helper and 463 as road locomotive and a 7 car train. Besides departure from Chama, we have Jukes tree, Lobato and the crossing of the trestle, beaver pond just prior to 3d crossing and finally Cumbres and the separation of the locomotives and departure of the train east. Enjoy the sound of 2 hard working steam locomotives and the sight of time standing still.

This video is a composite of both onboard and trackside takes of a run of train 215 from Antonito to Chama behind K26 463.

Next video is of a normal, i.e. not double headed, train 216 from Chama to Cumbres Pass. It again utilizes both onboard and trackside recording. It was recorded on 3 different days. The video off the back of the train as it leaves Chama was on the Sunset Diner train of 7/22/17 and the onboard recording of the approach to 3d crossing was done 7/30/17. The trackside recording were all from either 7/31/17 or 8/1/17. As you will note, weather conditions varied on the recording from sun to full overcast. Enjoy the recording and note it is almost 30 minutes long.

Thank you Sharon,
That was a wonderful trip up to Cumbres Pass. I appreciate the effort it took to put this together. Incidentally, do you happen to know why did the Dinner Train stopped briefly after passing over the Chama River?

This is only a guess, but did you hear the sound of steam rushing prior to the stop. 487 was the power and it has a chronic issue with the cylinder cock on the engineer's side rear and it could have been this. Sometimes they have to manually force it closed.

This is the final video from my July trip to Chama to ride, chase and work at session E. It covers a chase of train 215 from Los Pinos to Chama with K36 487 and was done on 2 different days.

Sharon - Thanks for posting all of the videos. It does a lot to give us our needed RR fix.
