From this morning, the train stopped near the water tank, engineer was banging something on the right side - all seemed well a few minutes later.

I love that last photo.

It reminds of when I sometimes had to bang on an old guitar amplifier to get it to work. I had to do that to a couple of TVs, too.

Actually, I love all of the photos. Larry G. timed his trip really well. So much going on!

Good to see fire patrol speeder 101 back in action. Marvin and his guys had that car all apart fixing damage when we were there in session E. Looks great.

Many mornings we see the fire patrol speeder head down and wait at the switch until 216 pulls out. So what is he doing down there, sleeping? No.... often doing little track maintenance tasks to help keep things running smooth. This morning, Julian Pacheco is digging out a tree root that was beginning to effect the switch points.

Toward the top a terrific picture with tank cars reflecting in the rear window of the fire patrol speeder as they prepare to leave the north yard.

That's Julian Pacheco digging out the root by the switch, he was our pilot one year when we were bombing all of the weeds on the ROW with herbicide on the Antonito end. He is a really great guy and his knowledge of the railroad is just amazing. His father was a section gang forman and Julian told us he was born in Sublette, his younger brother Max was born in the big city, (Chama).

Thanks John! Once Larry gets home and re-settled, we're going to go through and caption some of the photos - I'll add Julian's name to the post above.
