I was watching OP in action during a break in sand blasting and at that time they were lifting about a 1,000 lb wheel set and moving it around. There is a rope block and tackle that moves the boom from side to side on a windless and Russ and his team were getting pretty good at it.

Those guys were smiling so hard after 5 years of hard work I thought they were going to break their faces.

This shows the first steam through OP in decades. Evident at the top right exhaust and the cloud of steam at the bottom of the house

Tank cars are being sand blasted in prep for painting. The area in the swamp where the work is being done has a gray "haze" to it from the sand that is being used.

Most of the old paint is gone

Last week this long refer was still wearing it's old paint. It has since been scraped, primer applied, refer paint scheme applied and now just needs lettering and finishing touches.

Wow:

Looks like the August sessions turned out lots of great work - thanks to everyone for a great job - I was particularly worried about the tank cars getting primed prior to rusting from the monsoons! Cole and team did an awesome job. When I dashed through the yard Thursday of F I was astonished by all the freely painted cars. thanks to all the many volunteers who visited chama and Antonito this summer - still one session in Antonito not too late to sign up!
