Thanks for the link Greg. I have heard about the fire and was wondering where it was in relationship to the CATS. Remember in 2002 when the CATS was ordered shut down because of the half million acre Show Low, and the Boulder fires caused the forestry dept not to risk any more fires as they were maxed out fighting those other two.

According to this article, the massive Gila fire is not necessarily bad. We humans fear it, but it's a perfectly natural and desireable phenomenon.
