Volunteer Hours

For those of you that work at Los Alamos National Laboratory, there has been a call for 2015 Volunteer Hours. I think Sandia Lab has a similar program.

Los Alamos National Laboratory employees and retirees who log more than 100 volunteer hours in 2015 will be recognized by Los Alamos National Security, LLC (LANS), which will then make a monetary donation to the qualifying nonprofit organization on behalf of the recognized individuals. This is a great way to make another monetary contribution through your work session hours. LANL has recognized more than 3,000 Laboratory volunteers who have provided more than 1.8 million volunteer hours in their communities since 2007. This, in turn, has translated to more than $1 million to nonprofit organizations.

If you are a LANL employee and have volunteered in any way with the "Friends", please take time to enter your volunteer hours for calendar year 2015 by close of business March 14, 2016, on the Laboratory’s VolunteerMatch website, http://lanl.volunteermatch.org/.

There are several large corporations and businesses that have similar programs. Find out if yours does. It's a great way to provide much needed funds to the "Friends"! I just finished logging 270 hours!
