FLAT CARS

Every once in a while I see the passenger train leave Chama with flat cars on the front end. I was wondering where they are taking them and why?

Usually they're taken to Antonito to be used when the railroad needs to bring new ties out on the line. Currently they brought the ties to Chama for the new wye extension.
